The number of airline passengers going through Orlando International Airport increased almost 2 percent compared to last year.  The 160,000 passenger increase is a positive for Central Florida tourism, hoteliers, local attractions, retail and restaurants.  In the year 2009,  20.4 million airline passengers went through OIA compared to 20.8 million passengers in 2010 for the same time period.

Tourism is one of the top economic drivers in Central Florida, employing 253,00 people and contributing  $27.6 billion in annual economic impact in 2009.
