A 145-acre Legoland Florida theme park based on the Logo building block toys is scheduled to open its doors in the Fall of 2011.  The location is 6000 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven and is expected to create 1,000 jobs.  This will help the unemployment rate in Polk County which was at 12 percent in May 2010.  The park will inclued Logo-themed roller coasters, bumper boats and 50 other rides and attractions.

The owner of the theme park is Merlin Entertainments Group, which is owned by New York-based Blackstone Group (NYSE: BX) Blackstone also owns SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment and co-owns Universal Orlando, among others.  The theme park firm puchased the closed Cypress Gardens theme park for $22.3 million last fall as it failed to attract visitors to its location.

Tickets will range from $57 to $67 which is a competitive price to lure guests into the park.
