Kissimmee

Of all the counties in Florida, Osceola County has the second largest population as of 2020. Of the cities across the county, Kissimmee is the largest with a population of about 75,000 people.

Karen has helped many people buy second homes in Kissimmee as the opportunity to own a house near the attraction area is appealing for multiple reasons. For one reason, it is fun to own a property that you can use when visiting Disney World. Secondly, if you are open to renting out your home when you are not using it, there is an income opportunity that is appealing to many. Lastly, since this area is rapidly growing, buying a home is worth considering purchasing as a future investment.

Kissimmee, Florida, is a city located in Osceola County, just south of Orlando. It is known for its close proximity to major tourist attractions, known as the ‘gateway’ to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. Kissimmee is also a favorite place for out of state buyers thanks to it’s year-round warm, subtropical climate.

The housing market in Kissimmee is diverse, with a mix of single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments.

One popular community in Kissimmee is Celebration, which was developed by the Walt Disney Company and is known for its urbanist design and small-town feel. This walkable neighborhood has a mix of single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments, and is known for its tree-lined streets, walking trails, and fun community events.

Another desirable neighborhood in Kissimmee is Reunion, which is located near Walt Disney World and is home to several luxury hotels and many vacation homes. The community has multiple golf courses, swimming pools, and other amenities, and is popular with tourists and second-home buyers.

In addition to these planned communities, Kissimmee also has several established neighborhoods with various housing styles. These include the historic downtown area, which has a mix of older homes and newer condos, and the Poinciana neighborhood, which has a mix of single-family homes and townhomes.

Kissimmee is also proud of its diversity. About 70% of the population identifies as Hispanic and may restaurants and entertainment venues reflect this international foundation.

There are many activities you will enjoy in Kissimmee and the surround areas including Visit Walt Disney World. The Disney area resorts include four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom), two water parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon), and numerous hotels, restaurants, and shops. You may also explore SeaWorld Orlando, where you can see live animal shows, ride thrilling coasters, and learn about marine life conservation. If a family is looking for a smaller attraction the Silver Spurs Rodeo is a biannual rodeo that fits the bill for someone looking for a fun event, but that doesn’t feel like going to one of the area’s large amusement parks.

For the nature enthusiast enjoy the great outdoors at one of the many natures preserves and parks in the area. These include the Shingle Creek Regional Park, which has hiking trails, a boardwalk, and a beach; and the Osceola County Pioneer Village and Museum, which has a collection of historical buildings and artifacts from the area’s early settlers.  If you want to enjoy the outdoors you can relax on a boat tour of the surrounding waterways, such as the Kissimmee River or Lake Tohopekaliga. These water tours often include wildlife viewing and are a great way to see the natural beauty of the area.

Many visitors who go to Kissimmee, FL feel they must visit Old Town, a shopping and entertainment district that has vintage-style stores, restaurants, and carnival rides.
