Companies and organizations within Orlando got $254.4 million in stimulus cash during the first quarter 2010. The Orlando area is No. 3 on the list to receive the federal funding during that time period.  Tallahassess was No. 1 in the state, with $1.86 billion in funds, and Miami ranked no. 2 with $356.8 million.

The greater Orlando Aviation Authority, the governing body that runs the Orlando International and Executive airports, ranked 3 among organizations getting the most stimulus cash state wide.  It received $12.2 million during the period.

The first quarter 2010 shows 494 local Orlando jobs were created or saved by the federal stimulus program.
