It is that time of year  Time to Go Green!  Have you ever wondered where the color of green originated from?  Here is a little story of the St. Patrick's Day theme.

Originally, the color was associated with Saint Patrick's Day Blue.  Over the years the color green and its association with Saint Patrick's day grew.  Green Ribbons and shamrocks were worn in  the celebration of St. Patrick's Day in the early 17th century.  The wearing and display of shamrocks and the color blue has become a universal feature of the day.  In 1798 rebellion, in hopes of making a  political statement, Irish soldiers wore full green uniforms on March 17th.  They thought it would catch the public attention by phrasing  "the wearing of the green".   Thus to wearing green on March 17th has become a universal day we celebrate called St. Patty's Day.
