Kevin Schoolfield and Dale Parsons revitalized City Centre in Kissimmee three years ago.  There are now plans for two similar sized downtown projects: eight story 40,000 square foot mix of retail and apartments on a city parking lot and a $20 million five story 30,000 square foot mix of retail and office and residential on a former power plant site.  These are the ideas proposed by the city of Kissimmee and Osceola County that could reshape the area and attract revenue in retail, residential, office and industrial investment.

Other ideas are:

Lakefront Park Redevelopment:  Phase one and two of the city of Kissimmee remaking of its lakefront park.

Intermodal Station:  Lynx, Amtrak, Greyhound and Sun Rail are planning a multi use station that would be a transportation hub in downtown Kissimmee.

Kissimmee Gateway Airport road projects:  Osceola County may begin a $12.9 million widening of Hoagland Boulevard in Kissimmee.

Vine Street Community Redevelopment Agency:  The city is wrapping up a study of a five mile stretch of U.S. 192 near old buildings and vacant storefronts.  Creating a CRA along the roadway would allow for any taxes collected on growth in property values to be used toward infrastructure  and improvements.
