Pasco Iron & Metal a growing Land O Lakes scrap metal business has a large job on their hands. They have agreed to purchase all scrap metal from the extensive dismantling of Kennedy Space Center's launch pad 39B. This tower helped launch 53 space shuttle missions, and it is not small tangle of steel. More than 4,000 gross tons of metal need processed. The material, which has filled more than 400 truckloads, is being shipped directly from the job site in Cape Canaveral to Florida mills for processing. " Typically, the mills like older scrap because it is better quality and made with nice chemistry, states Matthew Goldman", CEO at Pasco Iron & Metal. Goldman will not discuss prices or where the scrap is going, but it all stays in Florida. The great news is it will all be recycled.
