Florida lost 13,095 jobs thus far in 2011. This data has been provided by outplacement
firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. Employers
nationwide announced 41,455 job cuts in June 2011, up 11.6 % from the prior
month. This brings the national job loss
total to 245,806.
The hiring picture is a little oblique. AS the government attempts to enact policies
that will spur job creation, it boils down to consumer demand for products and services
which look weak right now.
