Have you ever wondered what happens to all those dogs in the shelters across the state of Florida?

I'm Karen Arbutine with Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida. Our job is to place unwanted Labrador Retrievers into in forever, loving homes. We are now the most successful, breed, firm in the state of Florida as a non profit organization.

This is my own personal dog, I adopted in May. His name is Bear, and he is so very special to me. These dogs have been through a lot at Labrador Retriever Rescue, they have been surrendered. Unwanted by their current families and left at kill shelters. Our primary goal is to bring these dogs back to health, reduce their stress and find them forever homes that will love and cherish them.

Celebrating over 19 years of excellence, we have adopted over 10,000 Labrador Retrievers. One of our success stories is Bill Miller & Zoey. We are going to take a look and see how her life is progressing now.

Hi Zoey, how are you? Hi Bill, it's Karen from Lab Rescue.

It's good to see you again.

Hi sweetheart, how have you been?

So Bill, Zoey looks like she has really settled in since you met her at the shelter, with I believe her sister, Chloe?

Yes, her sister Chloe, good memory. I'll tell you Karen, it is just absolutely amazing. Having Zoey now for the past 6 plus years, and first getting her when she was 2 years old, she is a completely different dog.

She looks like she's really settling in. Do you have any good vacations, or anything planned?

Oh my gosh, well so many memories of family trips that I have taken her on, she's been to Georgia, she's been to North Carolina. Just pretty much anywhere that I can go and take her with me, she is on the family trip! I have to tell you that for the past 6 years, it's just been transformative having her in my life. I'm sure that every pet owner says that, but I can personally tell you that she has been such a blessing in my life! Just a complete life changing experience.

That's our goal at Labrador Retriever Rescue, is to match the right family with the right dog. And this certainly looks like it was the perfect match made in Heaven. And we love for people to endorse the group, instead of getting a pet through any other source, we would love for you to adopt an animal and save a life at Labrador Retriever Rescue.

Well Bill I just want to thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day and reconnecting after all these years and sharing Zoey with us. She looks like this was a match made in Heaven and just the perfect adoption scenario.

For sure Karen. Thank you so much for all you have done, for happy home owners and pet owners like myself and for the dogs that you have provide such a wonderful home for.

Sure, and it's our mission at Labrador Retriever Rescue is to find these unwanted dogs, happy, forever homes. And if you are ever thinking about getting a pet, instead of getting a little puppy from a breeder, consider saving a life and adopting a Labrador.
