A recent homebuyer gave a 5-star review to Winter Springs in 2022. They explained, “Winter Springs is a safe, clean community. We have pretty much everything that we need within a 5 minute drive. We are close enough to do activities around UCF but far enough that we aren’t surrounded by college students. This is the ideal spot to start a family.”

Winter Springs was not incorporated until 1972 and today is the largest city in Seminole County by land area. The charm of this city is seen throughout the area, including the old downtown feel of Winter Springs Town Center. Built-in 2002 it hosts 61,000 sq. ft. of specialty retail shops and office space.

Winter Springs homes have something for every kind of homebuyer. Currently, Winter Springs homes have a median cost of about $300,000 dollars. Buyers can choose from various neighborhoods and communities, such as Bear Creek, Chelsea Woods, Carrington Woods, Barrington Estates, Eagle’s Point, Oak Forest, Glen Eagle, and Avery Park.

Avery Park

Avery Park consists of neo-traditional houses priced between $300,000 and $600,000. Winter Springs houses here usually have the garages at the back. Alleys are located behind these garages. The neighborhood provides recreational areas such as a playground and community pool. Parents can enroll children in Keeth Elementary and the Winter Springs High School.

Carrington Woods

Another worthy place of Winter Springs real estate is the Carrington Woods. This neighborhood prices homes between $350,000 and $475,000. Regular exercise can be done in the neighborhood’s biking and jogging trails, soccer fields, and basketball courts. Schools within the area include Lawton Elementary and Oviedo High School.

Oak Forest

The Oak Forest community is another practical option. The mid-sized community has two Homeowners Associations that support the area’s residents. Families will feel secure with the area’s complete amenities and natural environment. Schools educate children in kindergarten until high school. Post-high school students can enroll in the Seminole Community College or the University of Central Florida.

Whichever area you decide to live in, you are sure to enjoy peaceful surroundings, recreational facilities, and convenient locations in Winter Springs. Most neighborhoods are just 20-30 minutes away from downtown Orlando.

On the southwest bank of Lake Jesup, between Spring Hammock Preserve & Central Winds Park you will find a dog park called Winter Springs’ Hound Ground.  Here you can enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Jesup while your four-legged family members play the day away. The park has areas with colorful playground equipment. The agility/training areas are reserved for classes and programs by contract or permit only. There are plenty of shady benches throughout. Solid fencing separates the large dogs from the smaller dog with a chain link fence on the adjacent side for views of the park or lake.  There are also several washing stations outside the fence to wash off those muddy paws before getting in the car. This is the perfect place to enjoy on the weekend with your pet, complete with all the amenities you will need for a great day.

If you prefer to take a walk or run on the weekend- the ‘Florida Trail’ skirts Winter Springs Hound Ground dog park and runs all the way from Oviedo, where it connects with the Cross Seminole Trail, through Spring Hammock Preserve to the ending at Big Tree Park. This is just part of a coast-to-coast Florida Trail  that includes Titusville’s Space Coast Trail to St. Petersburg’s Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail. Florida is a great place to live if you enjoy any outdoor activity and there are many places to consider and explore when you are looking to buy your Florida home.
