Lake Mary was incorporated in 1973. The city is named after Mary Sundell. She and her husband, Rev. Sundell, settle near the lake in the late 1800s. The town mainly produced agricultural products until 1880, when it became a stop on the railroad that ran between Sanford and Orlando. Over the years, the community blossomed into the upscale, prominent community it is today.
Lake Mary: City of Lakes
We are at 4th Street in downtown Lake Mary. There are many excellent sidewalk cafés, boutiques, and small businesses, next to the iconic Central Park. Across 4th Street, you will find Central Park and City Hall. This place has a great eclectic vibe. On Saturday, we have the Farmer’s Market, where all the local merchants showcase their fruits & vegetables. On Wednesday, we have Wine Art Wednesday, which is an excellent place for residents and visitors alike. This is just a sample of the continual activity found in this small town! Events are happening every week. Join the fun!
