The Orlando area saw fewer foreclosures in July an dmoved down a spot to No. 8 amon the nation's largest cities with the highest foreclosure rates, according to a new report by RealtyTrac Inc.
The Orlando metropolitan statistical area including Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, last month posted 6,993 foreclosure filings, which include notices of default, auction notices and bank repossessions. That figure which also represented one in every 129 homes receiving a filing last month, was a 3.5 percent decline from the 7,248 filings reported in the same month a year prior and 9.4 percent drop from the 7,717 fillings in June 2010.
Seminole County reported 1,376 foreclosures filed last month, or one in every 127 homes, compared with 1,333 in July 2009.
Osceola County reported 1,351 filings last month, or one in every 90 homes, which was 41.5 percent higher than July 2009.
Orange County had 3,628 July 2010 filings or one in every 127 homes, which was 12.6 percent below July 2009 filings.
Lake County had 638 July 2010 filings, or one in every 225 homes which was 36.8 percent below July 2009.
