Rollins college $20M inn project is on 3.4 acres of vacant college-owned property, which housed the former Langford Hotel in Winter Park. With 110 guest rooms and 9,000 square feet of meeting space, which will enable the college to host professional and academic conferences that currently cannot be accommodated on Rollins campus.
This means that about 200 temporary construction jobs and 100 new hotel jobs as well as bringing more visitors to downtown Park Avenue's shops and restaurants.
The college will finance the inn's costs. A 12.5 million gift from the Harold Alfond Foundation will be used along with a bank loan. The scheduled opening date of the inn is by the summer of 2013.
